Trench Data: A New Paradigm for Education and Equity

Higher education institutions have been relying on various types of data to gain insights that, ultimately, enable them to control retention, persistence and completions rates. Leaders view data as essential to solving the systemic challenges schools face. But our current data model has not directly and measurably improved these metrics. Even worse, it contributes to the equity gaps that permeate throughout schools and society.

This session shares a promising, new approach that leverages learning center-centric data to reveal the core drivers of underperformance, retention and graduation rates, and overall educational quality. Blending research and specific examples of data-derived successes, learning center leaders will be challenged to place a higher value on themselves. Participants will learn the unique and essential role their work plays in their respective institution’s ability to achieve its most pressing goals.
