Each year, the Georgia Tutoring Association hosts a conference that brings together tutors and consultants from colleges and universities across the state. Attendees can discuss and share current challenges, strategies, and trends in the tutoring world through presentations, posters, and networking.
GaTA is interested in gathering insight from everyone with boots on the ground in Georgia’s tutoring centers, from peer tutors to professional consultants to administrators. The conference provides a professional development opportunity for attendees at all levels.
GaTA particularly encourages presentations and posters from undergraduate and graduate student tutors, including those who have never presented at a conference before. This is a great chance to share your ideas with a receptive audience and receive detailed feedback from a broad range of people in the field.
For information on how to submit a proposal, please see our 2020 Call for Proposals. You can also learn more about topics that presenters have brought in the past by viewing presentation titles from our past conferences.
You don’t have to present to attend, of course, and many tutors and consultants benefit each year through attending sessions and networking during our banquet lunch.
Attendants will also be considered for our Tutor of the Year (TOY) Award.
