For Professionals and Administrators

As professionals we understand that tutors and consultants are the heart of our learning centers. At The Georgia Tutoring Association (GaTA) we pride ourselves in being a supportive network of professionals who understand the need for continuous training and development. Formed in 2001, GaTA was established to support and encourage the development of tutoring programs and centers at institutions across Georgia. GaTA is dedicated to connecting professionals who work within tutoring centers, as well as the tutors and consultants who support tutoring programs.

Consider sponsoring a tutor proposal by providing professional insight and coaching. This is a great opportunity for individuals who have never presented before. It is also a chance for your tutor to be recognized through the Tutor of the Year (TOY) Award. For a list of tips and strategies on effective management of tutors, please see our tutor development page.

In addition to our annual conference, GaTA hosts Train the Trainer every other year—an event specifically for administrators where we come together and focus on big-picture items that keep our centers running both efficiently and optimally. This event also gives us time to reflect on the vision we have for our individual centers. Our next Train the Trainer will be held in 2021.
