Upswing Receives Grant from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Posted on February 14, 2018February 14, 2018 by GATA2015

We are excited to hear that Upswing, one of our 2017 conference sponsors, received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to expand Ana, their current student-retention project. Sales Marketing Manager, Brent Hametner, says, “If there’s one thing I think any higher education admin would be interested in hearing about it would be Upswing’s SMS virtual assistant, Ana.”

After countless conversations with admins across the country about low email engagement with students, we decided to develop a tool that students respond to quickly and frequently. One institution saw engagement numbers as high as 70%!

Congratulations to Taylor and the folks at Upswing. We wish you much success in your student-retention goals!

To experience Ana for yourself, text “hey ana” to 415-UPS-WING (415-877-9464).
