2022 Conference – Two Decades of Impact: Fostering Future Legacies

Join us Online on October 21st, 2022, for a special 20th anniversary GaTA conference!

GaTA members and non-members alike, your 2022 conference planning committee wants to welcome you to GaTA 2022! This year, we celebrate 20 years of GaTA, including Train the Trainer events, annual conferences, and networking opportunities.  GaTA began as a way to connect Georgia professionals in learning assistance but has grown in to so much more.  This organization is now one that welcomes members from all over the world and works to provide unique experiences, both in person and online. Each year, GaTA hosts its annual conference, but COVID forever changed the way we thought of this yearly event.  We’re so happy to include folks from all over the field, each that bringing their own perspective that adds to the field.

As we celebrate GaTA’s 20th anniversary, we ask you to consider how our past and present work can foster a legacy worth leaving in higher education. Our work does not exist in a vacuum; learning assistance has witnessed and been affected by current events like those related to the conflict in Ukraine, issues of equity, and political events.  Yes, the work learning assistance professionals do every day is critical to retention and graduation, but our work also impacts the students we serve and the world in which we exist.  Now is the time to revisit the legacy this work will leave. We hope to “see” you in our virtual space for #gata20th.  We encourage presenters from all backgrounds to submit proposals, including faculty in learning centers, peer and professional tutors, student SI Leaders, and staff members.  It is the exceptional contribution of our presenters and volunteers that will make our 20th GaTA annual conference a memorable one.
